Cell lines for human application
We provide clinical grade human embryonic stem cell lines which are available to both commercial and academic clients.
We isolate stem cells to the highest technical, ethical and regulatory standards which will facilitate progression through all stages of the development of a new cell based therapy. We are continually developing improved techniques for the derivation of new clinical grade stem cell lines which meet GMP standards.
With our experience and acute understanding of these challenges we can provide cells with comprehensive supporting documentation and programmes to ensure the development of therapeutic applications can progress rapidly and confidently.
We believe that any therapeutic stem cell programme will demand a long term collaborative relationship between the cell line supplier and the developer of the therapeutic product. This collaborative relationship could extend to a range of activities beyond cell line derivation including:
- characterisation of lines to agreed standards
- development, implementation and validation of differentiation protocols
- cell banking
- supply of differentiated cells for preclinical and clinical testing in local centres of excellence
Cells for use in drug screening
High quality GMP derived hESCs can be applied to therapeutic drug screening where the high quality and consistent properties of GMP derived lines bring benefits in high throughput screening. This coupled with high quality characterisation data means that our clinical grade GMP cell lines a high quality standardised choice for screening applications.
We work with partner companies to evaluate their cells for the selected applications and then ensure that a continuous supply of high quality cells is available.
Cells for use in research
We can provide new standardised, high quality stem cell lines which are easy to culture with the necessary protocols, technical support and supporting documentation.
Our cell lines are highly characterised and demonstrated to be of high and consistent quality thus assuring reproducible performance in a range of experimental settings.
Using research aliquots of our clinical grade lines in early research the same cell line can be used in both the research and the clinical phases of a development programme. This will ease future commercialisation and facilitate collaborative research.
By collaborating with Roslin Cells, researchers not only get access to our high quality cell lines but have the added value of the company’s expert knowledge, which includes protocols, technical support (expertise in which cultures and media are most appropriate for specific cell lines, etc) and personal training from our expert technicians on how to best use the cell lines.
